Atomus Aegis - Backup Feature

Atomus Aegis performs a full data backup of your system drive.

The Importance of Backup

Backing up your data is crucial to ensure that you don't lose important files in the event of a computer crash or hardware failure. Without a backup, you risk losing valuable information, such as personal documents, photos, and work-related files. Unfortunately, data loss can occur at any time, and often without warning. It could be due to a virus, malware, hard drive failure, or even a natural disaster such as a flood or fire.

Therefore, having a backup of your data is essential to protect your information and ensure that you can recover it if anything goes wrong. During the partition onboarding setup, Aegis offers two backup options: cloud backup, or local backup to an external hard drive. Once in the Aegis partition, Aegis currently only supports a cloud backup. Note that all backups are fully encrypted and Atomus does not have access to any of your data stored on the cloud.

C: Drive Data Backup

It's important to note that the backup we are performing is a data backup of the C: drive only. This means that we are only backing up the important files and folders that are stored on the C: drive, such as documents, photos, and music. By doing this, we are ensuring that all your essential data is safe and secure in case of any unexpected situations.

However, it's important to understand that we are not performing a system backup, which would include the operating system, installed programs, and system settings. A system backup is much more comprehensive and ensures that you can fully restore your computer to its previous state in case of any loss.

In conclusion, having a backup of your data is essential to protecting your important files and folders in case of any unexpected situations. By performing a C: drive data backup, we are ensuring that all your essential data is safe and secure. However, it's important to understand the difference between a data backup and a system backup to ensure that you are properly protecting your important data.
