How to download and install the Aegis application on Ubuntu devices

Note: The only Atomus supported versions of Ubuntu are 20.04 and 22.04. Aegis for Ubuntu is an audit-only application (no security configurations are deployed). As Ubuntu is setup, disk encryption must be enabled (please store the key safely, as we cannot recover this if lost). This process will wipe the entire drive. If encryption is not enabled during the initial setup, Ubuntu will have to be reinstalled.

To enable full disk encryption during initial setup:

1. When asked How do you want to install Ubuntu, choose Erase disk and install Ubuntu
   1. Note: this process will erase the entire hard drive (to include other partitions)
2. Click Advanced features > Setup full disk encryption

Ubuntu Aegis application install, once Ubuntu is setup:

1. Download the .deb installer from the link sent to your email.
2. Install the app by opening the .deb installer with Software Install or running the command sudo apt install <path to .deb> --reinstall.
3. Run the Aegis app by searching for it in the app browser.
4. When prompted, sign into your Aegis Microsoft account.
5. When prompted, enter your password to install the Atomus Shield.
6. Wait for configuration to complete and confirm none of the sections on the profile screen show Error
