Onboarding FAQs

When onboarding with Atomus, there are a few questions that might come to mind. This document aims to capture information regarding some of the processes involved in the onboarding.

What are the next steps?

Team Atomus would have shared with you an onboarding plan, and you must have seen an email for the same.

When installing Aegis to my device, what happens to my device?

No data will be lost when installing Aegis to your device.

If you are installing Aegis onto an existing machine a dual boot will be created for your device, and you will now have an Aegis Drive and your original drive.

You will have to re-install applications onto the Aegis drive.

Our business is migrating from the Google Suite over to Microsoft, can we no longer use Google?

All business processes should now be done in Microsoft.

If you were using Gmail, emails will now be accessed and sent through Microsoft Outlook.

If my organization is storing documents locally on our devices, is there a shared drive that we can now put all of our documents?

In Microsoft, your individual files will be best housed in OneDrive and can be shared with specific people. Storing content on OneDrive is like storing content on your own computer.

Then, Microsoft SharePoint has the ability to store business documents in a team site. All members of your team can find and edit documents through there.

Check out this link for more information on file storage in Microsoft 365.

If I'm onboarding an extra device for my organization, what do I do?

If you are onboarding an extra device for your organization that does not have a designated user at this time, go ahead and follow the Standard Operating Procedure for onboarding the device with your information.

If you are adding an extra device for your organization, reach out to us by raising a support ticket, and we can help you out.

After my email inbox was migrated, why I can't seem to find some of my messages?

In email migration, all of your emails are migrated to your new inbox.

If you cannot find some of your emails, try checking all of the different folders on your Outlook account -- including junk mail, archive, and deleted items.

Make sure you double check your inbox too.

Help! I seem to have gotten a device with Windows 10/11 Home instead of Pro, what do I do?

No worries, you can easily upgrade your device from Windows 10 or 11 Home to Pro.

Microsoft has some great support documentation on making this upgrade
